As someone who has bought unsaleable items, programmes that promote dodgy items or over simplify the process in the past. I am now busy trying to avoid moving forward as my attic is a reminder of how it can go wrong.

However this video was great, it lifted my mood and made me think differently about my situation, looking forward to now getting stuck back in. The stuff in the attic will have be used as freebies in my future listings, time to pick myself up and move forward, albeit this time one step at a time.

I just thought I would say that I have been using Terapeak for around a year and it is brilliant. If you want to find a hot niche this tool is great.

You can research what the gross sales are for any category or for any product for 1-3months.

I have not found a better eBay research tool on the net.

An affiliate link is a small peice of code that is usually created by the product owners shopping cart - if he doesnt have this feature you can get seperate software programmes that do the same thing (this will need to be intergrated with the product owners shopping cart)

The product owner can also create a special offer page just for you… he only needs to rename the page and create another version of the product your selling in his shopping cart…if its done this way you dont need affiliate software…

The code generated by the affiliatee program will be inserted into the list owners email.

This will allow you to track all sales via the product owners shopping cart or the software you purchased…

You should take sales and commissions for as long as they continue to come in!

If its a volume product - then yes consider it!!!

Hello Dave, I understand the concept of it all but I’m sorry for being a bit dense perhaps but I still don’t understand exactly what is an affiliate link? Is it an email address, a code, a URL? I have looked at the sites you mentioned in the video, scriptlance and 1shoppingcart however I am absolutely no closer to understanding how i would know what my own affiliate link would actually be. Also how do i get paid the ‘commision check’, does it arrive by post and at what point do i provide these details to the product owner. Is there a kind of software program i have to join or download via the internet in order to get paid. Do i need an account as such and do I need to pay for this?

Fantastic Video, Lost it a bit at the google section like everyone else. I have a couple of questions if I may.
You mention an affilliate link, where does this go and how is it made up. Do I put it in the mail to the list holder or does he put it in the mail he sends out and how is it tracked?
Secondly, How long would you put on the payment dates would it just be a case of waiting until the money stops coming in to you and decide it must have dried up as you say the returns policy could be a month so how long before you would expect to see any money coming back. Would you think the product holder would tell us how much his profit margin is? if he is selling a a high end product but in a massive volume he may only be making £10 or £15 profit that will take a lot of money off the table. Would you advocate asking him atraight out what his profit margin is so you can decide if the deal is worth persuing?

A very good and clear video. It is good to see this type of follow up which answers all the questions. It also allows you to gauge how to pitch later videos.

I think that most people need reassurance that following a particular path will produce results, especially if the payoff is some time in the future. This type of follow up is essential.

Reading what most of other contributors have said the payment from both sides are important but the bottom line is that if they don’t want to pay whose going to make them pay. Even with a contract, they can get away with it unless the agent is loaded with money to go to court. It really is down to trust between all three parties and that’s all there is to say. We could insist on a contract but what’s it worth? Keep on trying folks!

Hi Dave, Yet again a little piece of informative dynamite from you so many thanks indeed. My query is sadly just like the others. Is tnere not a need for contracts to ensure payment? There seems to be nothing to stop the deal being done directly between the parties because you introduce them and, finally, how do you continue the relationship? Do you use a different product in the range and develop that?

Hi Dave.
I have bought pruducts, PLR’s and stuff you would not beleive. Watching your video reminded me of a “Jim Sheridan” course I once bought you made it look comprehensive and easy, due to your explanation of the e-mails’. I like another person is wondering if by giving the suppliers name web site etc would you not be cut out. Also how are you going to get repaet fees if you are saying to your supplier that he will inherit all theese new costomers. Finnaly would the owner of the e-mail list not do this themselves.I have no web site, would it be beneficial for me to get one.

Very informative video, the picture quality was a little poor on the google part, but the message being conveyed was clear enough.
How do you get the money from both of the parties. Is there a proper contact drawn up or are we relying on the other parties honesty???

At the moment all of my time is marketing my import business.
My customers are CCTV installers and wholesale outlets
like CPC and maplins.
Its growing slow but its growing.I do read all of your emails

Dave, A great video and a simple, yet brilliant, idea! I have just one question: On the e-mail to the ezine producer, you actually give them the web address of the potential supplier. Will this not give them the opportunity to cut you out of the loop and deal direct with the supplier? They could then both take 50% of the profit each (an extra 5% each) and leave you with nothing! Hi David

I found your video very interesting. However, could you explain how you actually get the money from the companies. Would you have to draw up a contract? How can you ensure they pay you? I don’t understand in full how you get the money from these deals. I get the concept of the plan but just need a bit more advice.

Thanks for that David in theroy it seem so easy i can’t believe i’ve not tried it before, i’ll be sure to give it ago!! How would you suggest gaining payment i presume the product owner would have to forward it to me and the list owner!!

Information overload is the big problem - and sorting the good info from the bad. I need a workable plan from someone I can trust. Reliable advice on finding a market, a product, setting up the website and marketing. Also someone I can call with any queries.

hi thanks for the reply, we have products in mind, its just finding a safe contact to deal with as i said we have been stung a few times fortunately we only asked for samples. so a contact list would be great ten we can bring in te niche products to sell at a profit.

My main problem has been finding a niche product. I am confident in purchasing, marketing etc, its just finding the product that I’m confident will sell.

Hi dave thanks for the email…

I have done a lot of research and understand almost every aspect of business. At the moment I have niche products available from China but I am skeptical on the process of importing from China right through to bringing the product to my doorstep. So my issues are importing and dealing with suppliers. Also the only holdup I have right now in starting my business is the beginning initial investment. I am on standby because at the moment I have no money to invest into my idea.

Hi Dave - thanks for the email - An idiots guide on everything would be good for me!! Need to know the pitfalls of dropshipping/ebay, who & what to avoid, I have an idea of what I would like to try & sell although not sure how big the market would be, but I’m not after making my millions, would just like to make enough to pack in my part time job & work from home so I can be available for the school run etc - Have been stung already by a few cons about home working so am a little cautious now about handing over my hard earned pennies!! Although am prepared to put in the work to pull this off!

thanks a lot for the lessons and the cd you have recently sent, although i haven’t picked it up but i believe the contents will be cool. My concern has always been getting the right products to the right customers with a very minimum start up cost. I think after studying the cd you sent I will be able to start something. I have got only as far as publishing a website. I have no suppliers or products selected to market.
Working from home is too noisy and distracting with a young family.
I find it virtually impossible to set aside the 3 or 4 hoours a day to focus on and run a business.

thankyou for asking, alls well with me and the family.Thank you for being consistent with your mails Ive read every one of them.Like many other people Ive have tried countless other business options either have not been paid on time or never been paid at all.At the moment my main concern would be finding products for the Indian market, also with very low start up costs the business i am running at the moment is definetly tied up with the recession in the market(real estate).My main concern would be capital to start up with and also the fear of losing out in a scam .However Iam clear about one thing I definetly need to make a living.

hey dave, i would like a run down on every thing realy like sourcing a hot product that will sell easy and geting it home with out being conned and what duties you would have to pay on the product and also marketing(ebay) and how to make a good profit
